Family Portraits Experience | Jefferson City, Missouri

Make Room

for All of You.

You might be the parent who's usually taking the picture, or the one who finally got the grown kids in the same place. Let's make a photograph with you in it.

Your People. Beautifully seen.
01 / The Family You Have Right Now

A Beautiful Portrait

Can Still Feel Like

Your Family.

You can dress up, make something with a little drama, and still have room to laugh at each other.

I'll help with the clothing, the setting, and where everyone goes. We'll make room for a composed family portrait and the smaller connections around it: siblings together, a child tucked against a parent, or grandparents with the people they rarely get in one photograph.

Tell me what your family is like. That gives me more to work with than asking everyone to arrive with their best camera smile.

02 / A Few Pages From Family Life

There Is More Than

One Way to Be Together.

Some families love a formal portrait. Others settle in through movement and a little play. We can shape the photographs around the people who are actually coming.

The Expressions You Recognize

Find a photograph you like.

We can talk about what draws you to it.

03 / A Little Planning Goes a Long Way

You Don't Have to

Organize Every Detail Alone.

We'll work through the practical decisions before the session. You can send outfit photographs, tell me who needs a slower pace, and ask the question that's been keeping you from booking.

What we wear

I'll help you build a coordinated wardrobe around your family's taste and our setting. A shared color palette gives us room for different textures and personalities. Try the clothes on, including shoes, and make sure everyone can sit, move, and be held comfortably.

The People + The Pace

Tell me about your children's ages, nap times, anyone who feels reluctant, and any mobility or sensory needs we should consider. We can plan seating, walking, and pauses with those details in mind. You can also tell me which family combinations matter most.

Where We Photograph

My Jefferson City studio, an outdoor setting, or a meaningful location may fit your family. We'll consider group size, access, light, and how much room everyone needs. For an outdoor session, we'll discuss a weather plan and any location or travel costs in advance.

04 / From the First Hello to Your Finished Photographs

I'll Guide the Experience.

You Get to Be in the Pictures.

01

Discover | Reserve | Design

Before the Session

We start with a 30-minute discovery conversation about your family, the photographs you want, and the investment. A signed agreement and nonrefundable retainer reserve your date. Then we plan wardrobe, location, timing, and the groupings you'd like to include.

02

Photograph

When Everyone Arrives

I'll arrange the group and guide posture, hands, movement, and expression. We can make the portrait where everyone looks at the camera, then leave room for closer connections and smaller combinations. Children can take a moment to warm up; you don't have to spend the session directing them for me.

03

Reveal + Order

What Comes Home

Your private Reveal + Ordering Appointment is generally scheduled within two to four weeks. We'll view your finished photographs and choose the images and artwork you want to purchase. If you need to meet through Zoom or Google Meet, let me know before your session.

06 / Made for the Rooms You Live In

Let Your Family

Have a Place on the Wall.

Before the session, look at the space where you'd like to see your family. A large portrait above a sofa needs a different composition from a group of smaller photographs in a hallway.

Bring a photograph of the wall and its measurements to your reveal. I'll help you compare sizes and finishes, or build an album or folio box around the images that belong together.

Albums and wall art generally take four to six weeks to produce. Custom products are delivered after your balance or payment plan has been paid in full.

A Personal Note From Ali

Family Is Where

It All Began.

I started this photography journey photographing families... my very own, to be exact. The people I love were the first ones in front of my lens, and those photographs still mean the world to me.

My creative side has taken me in all kinds of directions since then, but family portraits will always have my heart. I know how much it means to have photographs of your people, and I bring that same care to photographing yours.

07 / The Questions Families Ask

Before You Get

Everyone Dressed.

If your family needs something we haven't covered, tell me before the session. Planning works better when I know who's coming.

What if my children won't cooperate?

We'll work with their ages and personalities. A child may need to stay close to a parent, move for a while, or take a short pause. Tell me about nap times and anything that helps them settle. I'll guide the session, so you can stay involved with your family.

Do we need to match our clothes?

We can coordinate through color and texture while leaving room for everyone's taste. Send me your outfit options, and I'll help you narrow them down. Comfort matters, especially for children. Professional hair and makeup is optional and can be discussed at an additional fee.

What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?

We'll discuss the weather plan when we choose an outdoor session. The options depend on the location, conditions, and everyone's availability. We'll agree on next steps together rather than leave you guessing on the day.

When will we see the images? Can we meet virtually?

The Reveal + Ordering Appointment is generally scheduled within two to four weeks of your session. We can arrange Zoom or Google Meet if you can't come to the studio. Please let me know before your session so we can plan for that.

Can we include grandparents and adult children?

Yes. Family portraits can include several generations or a group of grown children. We'll plan the full group and the smaller combinations that matter to you. Tell me about seating, walking, and any accessibility considerations when we choose the location.

Can our pet join the photographs?

Tell me about your pet before we choose the location. We'll discuss whether the setting allows animals, how your pet fits into the group photographs, and whether someone can help when we're making images without them.

Are digital images included in the Creative Fee?

Photographs, digital files, and artwork are separate purchases. The Creative Fee covers planning, photography, guidance, editing, and the private reveal. We'll review the image and product options before you reserve, and you'll make your selections after seeing the finished work.

Will our family photographs be shared publicly?

We'll discuss and document your image-use preferences before the session. Tell me if you want your family's photographs to remain private or have questions about sharing images of your children. Those choices belong in our planning conversation.

Who's Missing

From Your Family Photos?

If it's usually you, let's change that. We'll start with a 30-minute conversation about your family, the photographs you want, and what you can expect to invest.
